Professor Naomi Klapper has been a college professor since 1986 and has served on the faculty at Yeshiva University, Stern College for Women, and Sy Syms School of Business. She has been a full time faculty member of Lander College since 1989. Professor Klapper was appointed Deputy Chair of the Department of Psychology in 2001, and continues to serve in that capacity.

Professor Klapper also serves as the Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the Lander College Counseling Center. She serves on numerous college committees, including chairing search committees for new faculty, and chairing a subcommittee for the college’s Middle States Accreditation. She is the faculty mentor to Lander College Psi Chi Honor Society. Naomi Klapper also serves as a mentor for new faculty members.

In addition to teaching, Naomi Klapper is also a licensed clinical therapist and maintains a private practice in Manhattan on 81st Street and Central Park West. Her practice includes individual therapy, pre-marital counseling, couples counseling, and family therapy.

In 2001, Professor Klapper implemented an extensive psychology internship program at Lander College, in which she arranges clinical and research internships, as well as serves as the faculty supervisor and mentor for the students during their internships.

Professor Klapper has lectured extensively on numerous topics of Parenting, Relationships, Marriage, and Wellness. She has been invited as a scholar-in-residence at many educational retreats, psychology programs, and synagogues.

She is the recipient of several teaching awards, including the student nominated “Teacher of the Year” award at Lander College and the prestigious “America’s Top Teachers” award.
