Lander College for Women graduates enjoyed a special reception with parents, family and friends before donning caps and gown and walking over to Lincoln Center for the commencement ceremony. Dean Marian Stoltz-Loike wished the graduates well, hoping that in addition to all the details and knowledge they’ve gained, they will also take with them an abiding respect for others.
Bright-eyed Ilyssa Moskowitz (LCW ’13) is taking the fashion world by storm. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in marketing from Touro’s Lander College for Women-The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School (where she was president of the Marketing Club and held membership in Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society of Business), Moskowitz then went on to receive an additional associate\'s degree in fashion merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Yet she’s already landed positions at Nordstrom, Kenneth Cole, and Bloomingdales, and Bonobos—where she currently works as a men’s stylist. We had the chance to chat with her about "clienteling," how she got started in fashion, and what a typical day in her life looks like.
Like molecular theory itself, becoming a scientist involves starting with germs of knowledge and watching that expertise grow. Lander College for Women 2013 graduate and current Touro College of Pharmacy Class of 2017 student Elisheva Swartz is midway through her development from curious undergraduate to future pharmacist. Her mission is to research ardently and consume theory about what ails and rehabilitates human beings and, one day, put that all into practice. “It’s exhilarating," she says. "I\'m spending my time learning about how the physical world is built."
