The evening began with a sneak preview of the LCW Drama Club’s upcoming fall 2015 production of Joseph Kesselring’s 1944 play “Arsenic and Old Lace,” performed by LCW student actresses Chaya Bernard, Chani Altman, Neeli Rhodes, and Yael Goldstein in costume. A dark comedy about two elderly spinster aunts who poison single men, “Arsenic and Old Lace" is directed by President of the Drama Club Chaya Bernard and will be performed in its entirety fall 2015. 

In addition to celebrating Purim by reading the megillah, giving (and getting!) mishloach manot, and going to the chagigah and seudah, students at Lander College for Women—the Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School (LCW) teamed up with Oneg Shabbat to perform the mitzvah of matanot l’evyonim, giving monetary gifts to the poor.

 When (the Jewish month) Adar begins, we increase our joy.  Over one hundred women studying in Israel gathered together on Feb. 16, shortly before Rosh Chodesh Adar, to channel the strength of the happiest month of the Jewish year into a unique project.

Students at Lander College for Women—the Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School were proud to support Keren Yehoshua v\'Yisroel in a pre-Purim project organized by student government.
