LCW Honors the Class of 2015 at Graduation Reception
Before Commencement, graduating students bid farewell to LCW
On the morning of commencement, graduates walked into the auditorium for one last time as students to celebrate with family, friends, and faculty at a pre-graduation reception at Lander College for Women—the Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School (LCW).
Earlier this month, at the senior dinner, outstanding graduates received commencement awards.
In her remarks at the reception, Dean Marian Stoltz-Loike congratulated the class of 2015. “It is a bittersweet moment to bid farewell to such an accomplished cadre of superb students who have contributed so much to our college's vitality and growth,” said Dean Stoltz-Loike. She acknowledged the commitment of the dedicated LCW faculty to the success of each of the graduates, but also reminded the students to celebrate the role their parents have played in their success. “Our faculty at LCW has provided you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in reaching your dreams,” she said, “and your parents will continue to support you in those dreams.”
Many of this year’s alumnae have already begun climbing the ladders of their dream careers. Miriam Leah Teitelbaum, who majored in Management Information Systems/Programming Track, will be working as a full-time technology analyst for Goldman Sachs; while Rachel Morris, who was awarded the Dean Devorah Ehrlich Accounting Prize, has been working for PricewaterhouseCoopers as an associate since January.
Biology major Miriam Falkovsky will be pursuing physical therapy at Touro’s School of Health Sciences, and Alaina Edelmuth, who won the Dean Marian Stoltz-Loike Service Award, will be heading to dental school this fall. Tova Karkovsky, who took several graduate-level education courses during her semesters at LCW, will be completing her Master’s at Touro’s Graduate School of Education. And New Jersey-native Civi Berger, who majored in Judaic Studies and minored in biology, is enrolled at Farleigh Dickinson University’s nursing school.
After a brunch buffet and a farewell video with messages from faculty and administration, the soon-to-be-graduates were escorted to Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, where Commencement exercises were held.
Congratulations to the graduates and awardees!
