Years Two and Three
Meet with the pre-health adviser to discuss your interest in medicine and to discuss your timeline, grades, and activities to ensure what is the correct cycle for you to apply.
- Continue to participate in service organizations and campus activities.
- Continue gaining healthcare experience.
- Continue meeting with faculty. Consider carefully who you should ask for a recommendation letter.
- Begin Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) preparation (MCAT calendar). Register for the MCAT. Try to complete MCAT by June
- Begin DAT preparations if you are interested in dentistry
- Think about what you might like to do during the summer.
- Brainstorm and begin a draft of personal statement for AMCAS application (Why medical school?) or ADEA/AADSAS
- Review Medical School Application and ADEA/AADSAS Process
- Selecting Medical and Dental Schools
- Personal Statements
- The AMCAS and ADEA/ AADSAS Application
- Generate a list of medical schools to which you would like to apply.
- Confirm that all letters of recommendation have been sent to your pre-health adviser.
