Yummy Yom Yerushalayim BBQ
LCW students gather for a festive evening to celebrate the Israeli national holiday
Beautiful weather, delicious food, and an exciting activity drew a crowd of over 60 students onto the terrace at Lander College for Women—the Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School (LCW) last night.
In honor of Yom Yerushalayim, students gathered on the festively decorated space for a catered barbecue dinner and flower pot painting project. The spirit of spring and celebration filled the air as the group muched, laughed, and sang. Students decorated flower pots after enjoying dinner and filled them with dirt and seeds of their choice – flowers, herbs or sweet basil. The activity resulted in dozens of unique and cheerful pots displaying a variety of designs and messages!
The evening, organized by LCW student and Israel Advocacy Project Event Coordinator, Layah Schreiber and Director of Student Programming, Amy Gross, closed with a rousing Dvar Torah given by Rivka Malka Swartz, '14.
