Chanukah, Oh Chanukah
Students celebrate with nightly activities at the 65th Street student residence
Chanukah, always a warm and joyous time, feels no differently at Lander College for Women—the Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School's 65th Street home away from home. While most students went home for Thanksgivukkah, they came back to campus to celebrate Chanukah! Each night they lit their menorahs together and filled the halls with songs and laughter.
Nightly activities at the residence kept the celebrations going strong. The top three are:
Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel
The festivities began with a classic, competitive game of dreidel. The students put their gelt where their mouth is and laid it all on the line. The games ran tournament-style and winners won gift certificates to their favorite places.
Dreidels and Chocolate and Crafts, Oh My!
Nothing is as exciting as getting a Chanukah gift, except maybe giving one! The group made miniature dreidel boxes for their friends that had sweet surprises inside. While they were a lot of fun to make, they definitely were not as easy to spin...
Not Your Average Menorah
Bring out the chocolate and creativity! Students rose to the challenge of designing a menorah using only their favorite chocolate treats.
There is already talk of next year's festivities and students can't wait!
