Dr. Toba Singer is the Associate Dean of the Lander College for Women - The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School. Dr. Singer is an Associate Professor of History specializing in Early Modern England. In 2004, she joined the Department of History at Touro teaching a wide range of core and elective courses. In 2015, Dr. Singer took on the role of Deputy Chair for the history department. She has also served as the Associate Director for the Flatbush Society of Fellows at the Lander College for Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Singer received her BA suma cum laude from Brooklyn College CUNY and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society in her junior year. She was awarded a British Marshall Scholarship for study in England and received her MA in history and literature from Oxford University. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Singer won a Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities which she took to study at the University of California, Los Angeles. At UCLA, Dr. Singer served on the editorial board of the UCLA Historical Journal and earned her Ph.D. in history.
