If the current generation of college graduates understands one basic truth about today’s job market, it’s that they have to be adaptable. Finding work in one’s chosen field just out of school can be challenging, but with some creativity and an open mind, students can apply their education in myriad ways to at least kick-start their career. Take Naomi Berlin, an Edison, New Jersey native and graduate of Moshe Aaron Yeshiva HS, Sharfman’s seminary in Israel and Lander College for Women/The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School. Upon receiving her degree in Marketing and Management, Naomi set her sights on the often-volatile music industry.

When is the student housing application due? Who can confirm my tuition payment? Judaic studies finals are in two weeks?! The Town Hall gatherings at LCW occur four times per academic year to give students the opportunity to ask questions and voice opinions, concerns, requests, and ideas. While the Dean’s opening remarks include reminders and clarifications, the latter half of the meeting opens the floor to the student body. Given the opportunity to contribute to the dialogue, these meetings have been the birthing-ground for new classes, minors, clubs and student-run initiatives.  In previous Town Hall meetings, a Latin class was created (Fall 2013) and a volleyball team organized (Fall 2014).

Bright-eyed Ilyssa Moskowitz (LCW ’13) is taking the fashion world by storm. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in marketing from Touro’s Lander College for Women-The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School (where she was president of the Marketing Club and held membership in Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society of Business), Moskowitz then went on to receive an additional associate\'s degree in fashion merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Yet she’s already landed positions at Nordstrom, Kenneth Cole, and Bloomingdales, and Bonobos—where she currently works as a men’s stylist. We had the chance to chat with her about "clienteling," how she got started in fashion, and what a typical day in her life looks like.
