Chana Shaffer-Minkowitz

Chana Shaffer-Minkowitz is an adjunct professor of law and political science at Touro College and John Jay College. She holds a J.D. degree from Cardozo Law School and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Touro College, where she founded the Touro Debate Team and Political Science Society. After graduating from law school, Prof. Shaffer-Minkowitz interned at the Brooklyn Supreme Court, then worked at a highly successful Manhattan class action law firm before deciding to turn her career toward academia. She has also worked extensively in social services, serving as associate director of public relations at a children’s learning center and subsequently as the director of special programming at a center for lifelong learning. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
